Welcome!
This is our passion and what we do for fun… The Northeast Florida Aero Club (NEFLAC)

NEFLAC was formed by local pilots in July 2019. The Northeast Florida Regional Airport (KSGJ) was picked as its home-base for its convenient facilities and great area and location.

The club currently operates three (3) fully IFR certified, Technically Advanced Airplane (TAA) aircraft.

The first aircraft was purchased in December 2019, a 1967 PA-28-180, Piper Cherokee ‘C’, 180HP, TAA, N4886L. In July 2020, the aircraft avionics on N4886L was updated to include a Garmin avionics suite: GNX 375 Navigator/GPS/Transponder with ADS-B Out/In, dual G5 EFI primary displays and an INS 429 VOR/ILS unit. In March 2021, the radios were replaced with two Garmin GTR 225 and a PS Engineering 6000B Audio Panel. In February 2022, the engine was replaced with a new, zero-time, factory rebuilt engine. Lastly, in June 2023, the lap seat belts were upgraded to shoulder/lap seat belts and a Garmin GFC 500 Autopilot was installed to complete the Garmin suite to make the aircraft a Technologically Advance Aircraft (TAA). With 50 gallon (48 gal usable)  usable fuel N4886L is a favorite amongst members for extended long cross-country flights.

In January 2022, the club added its second club-owned aircraft; a 1965 C-172F, Skyhawk, 180HP, TAA, N124PJ with Garmin GTN 750 NAV/COMM, Apollo SL15 Audio Panel, GTX 345 XPDR (ADS-B Out/In), GEM 610 Engine Monitor and VA-1A Voltmeter. The aircraft also has the Air Plains STC that added a Lycoming O-360 engine with 180HP.  In June 2023, the avionics was updated to a full Garmin suite to make the aircraft a Technologically Advance Aircraft (TAA) with the installation of a GFC 500 Autopilot, dual G5 EFI and GNC 225A NAV/COM Radio.

Two months later, in March 2022, to accommodate club members interests to go faster and farther on long cross country flights, the club added it’s third aircraft; a 1980 C-182Q Skylane, High-Performance 230 HP, Aspen Evolution Glass panel, TAA, N5099N. This aircraft has a 230HP, 92-gallon fuel capacity and an increased useful load of 150lbs with the Trolltune ‘Fresh Pick’  STC. Its avionics include a full Aspen Evolution 2500 Max glass cockpit, Avidyne IFD 440 Navigator/GPS/NAV/COM, VOR/ILS, KN-64 DME, Lynx NGT-9000 XPDR/ADS-B/Traffic, KX-155 GMA 345 Audio Panel, FS-450 Fuel Monitor, EDM 700 Engine Monitor and S-TEC 55x autopilot. In January 2023, a BRS Aircraft Rescue Parachute System (WARPS) was installed on the aircraft.

All aircraft are parked in their own hangars with the PA-28 and C-172 aircraft located in the same hangar row. Two of the hangars have a good view of the airport and the tower. All of the hangars have a number of amenities, small refrigerator and basic equipment for convenience and flight planning.

The total club membership is capped to a ratio of 20 members per aircraft (20:1 ratio). With 3 aircraft available club membership has reached max membership with 60 active members. At this time the club continues to accept applications for membership that are placed on a wait list in the order which they are received. The club is actively looking to purchase or lease back an additional aircraft to expand the fleet. This will open 20 membership slots that will increase club membership to 80 members.

As part of joining NEFLAC club member we ask that you also become a member of the local St Augustine Airport Pilots Association (SAAPA). To read/review NEFLAC Bylaws and Rules of Conduct please go to: https://neflac.com/membership.

NEFLAC is a Not-For-Profit corporation. We are not an aircraft rental business. We are all stakeholders in the club. As such we treat and maintain all of our aircraft in that manner. This keeps our costs manageable and allows us to always have clean and good looking aircraft to show for and enjoy. Come see for yourself!

We have experience operating and maintaining leased aircraft. If you are an aircraft owner that may be interested in leasing your aircraft to the club please reach out to us for more information and details. The club currently has an empty hangar and is looking for another leaseback aircraft to add to the fleet.
